About Nicholas

Nicholas Willey is a native of North Carolina, growing up with 2 brothers in a small mountainous region near Lenoir, NC. His love for music came at an early age when studying piano.

Upon entering the collegiate field as a Business major at Winthrop University his life felt unfulfilled and so he switched to a Music Degree. Graduating in the Fall of 2020 with a Performance Degree in Piano at the height of the pandemic, Nicholas moved down to Columbia, SC to pursue a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting with Dr. Walker at the University of South Carolina.

Since graduating, Nicholas has served as the Music Director of St. Thomas More, leading rehearsals from the organ where he teaches and conducts the 20-person ensemble. He also serves as the Music Teacher at St. John Neumann Catholic School. Here he delivers music instruction to children from Pre-k to 6th grade, creating lifelong memories and instilling skills like reading music, teamwork, and a good work ethic.

Along with a full-time teaching load, Nicholas maintains an active performing schedule. He performs frequently with local theater companies such as Village Square and accompanies for Middle School and High School concerts and performances.
